EDI for automotive suppliers

We take in the planning schedules sent by automakers and Tier 1 suppliers, and send out shipping notices in the format each customer asks for.

  • DELFOR / 830
  • DESADV / 856
  • X12
  • EDIFACT
  • XML

The challenge

Every automotive customer brings its own rules.

Planning schedules are updated often, and the quantities have to reach the supplier’s planning quickly. Retyped by hand, they become a source of mistakes.

At shipment, each automaker or Tier 1 supplier wants the notice to its own specification, in X12, EDIFACT or XML, and the notice has to arrive before the truck does.

Messages in the flow

DELFOR · 830
The planning schedule: quantities by part and week, firm and forecast.
DESADV · 856
The shipping notice: what was loaded, in how many boxes, for which plant.
XML
For customers who want the notice in their own format.
CHANNELS
SFTP, HTTPS, OFTP2 or AS2, as agreed with each customer.

Plan and shipment

The planning schedule comes in. The shipping notice goes out.

A DELFOR or 830 brings quantities by part and week. When the load leaves, DESADV or 856 tells the customer exactly what to expect.
