Transport and forwarding
Transport and logistics EDI
For carriers, freight forwarders and logistics providers: transport orders arrive straight in your TMS, status updates go out automatically, and drivers confirm delivery with a QR code.

- Freight forwarders
- 3PLs
- Shippers
- Sea and road
The challenge
Orders by email, status updates by phone.
Many transport orders still arrive by email, or in a different format from every customer. Dispatchers retype them into the TMS, and status updates and delivery confirmations are sent by hand, late.
ZenB2B grew out of years inside logistics operations, so we know what a lost order or a missing proof of delivery costs.
Messages and data in the flow
- IFTMIN
- The transport instruction lands in your TMS automatically, including sea and road legs, as well as containers and equipment: type, weight, packages, services requested.
- IFTSTA
- Status updates, sent to the customer from the EDI flow.
- POD
- Proof of delivery: the driver scans the QR code on the delivery note.
- UIT
- Romanian e-Transport codes generated from the shipment data.
- INVOIC
- The freight invoice, linked to the order and the delivery.
Multimodal transport
Sea and road, in the same transport order.
Transport orders can span several modes: a sea leg between ports, then road transport to the consignee. Each order also carries its equipment, with container type, weight and packages, and the services requested.

Proof of delivery
The driver scans the QR code. Delivery is confirmed on the spot.
The despatch advice printed from the portal carries a QR code in its header. At the destination, the driver scans it with a phone, enters their name, the delivery date and time and any notes, and confirms.
The despatch advice moves to “Delivered”, and the portal shows who confirmed, when, and whether the delivery was on time, early or late. No phone calls, no scanned paperwork.

How ZenB2B handles it
One flow from transport order to proof of delivery.
We connect your TMS with customers, partners and subcontractors, each in their preferred format: EDIFACT, XML, API or CSV. Orders can be multimodal, with a sea leg between ports and road transport to the consignee, carrying the containers and equipment of each shipment. Smaller partners can send orders and see status updates in the Web EDI portal.
We print a QR code on the delivery note that the driver scans at the destination. The confirmation shows in the portal straight away, with the driver’s name and the delivery time, and the delivery can go straight to invoicing. Shipment data can also feed e-Transport (UIT) reporting in Romania.
What you gain
- Transport orders without retyping IFTMIN goes straight into your TMS, with addresses, delivery windows and the equipment required.
- Status updates and proof of delivery, without phone calls The driver confirms delivery on the phone, and the customer gets the IFTSTA status and POD automatically.
- e-Transport in the same flow The UIT code is obtained from the order data, with no second data entry.
FAQ
Questions about transport EDI
What is IFTMIN?
IFTMIN is the EDIFACT transport instruction message: who ships what, from where, to where and by when. It is the core document in EDI between shippers, forwarders and carriers.
How does QR-code delivery confirmation work?
The delivery note carries a unique QR code. The driver scans it with a phone at the destination, and the proof of delivery reaches the system and the customer, with no calls and no scanned paperwork.
