DIY and home improvement
EDI for DIY retail chains
For manufacturers and distributors that supply home-improvement chains: direct store and central warehouse deliveries, product catalogues and invoices, through one integration point.
- Hornbach
- Dedeman
- Leroy Merlin
- Brico Dépôt
The challenge
Many delivery channels, strict labelling rules.
DIY chains have specific labelling, coding and delivery requirements. Supply often mixes direct store delivery (DSD), deliveries to a central warehouse and returns.
Without EDI, these channels are coordinated by hand, and a wrong price or EAN code in the catalogue only shows up at the till.
EDI messages in the flow
- ORDERS
- Electronic orders with the delivery location (store or central warehouse GLN).
- DESADV
- Despatch advice with pallets, weights and EAN barcodes.
- INVOIC
- Electronic invoices that meet each chain’s requirements.
- PRICAT
- Product catalogue in sync: prices, descriptions, EAN/GTIN codes.
- PRODAT
- Product data sheets sent automatically.
- PARTIN
- Party and location master data.
One integration point
One ERP, one connection, every DIY chain.
Your ERP talks to a single partner: ZenB2B. We translate every order, despatch advice and invoice into the format and rules each home-improvement chain requires, then deliver it over the channel the retailer uses.
Your ERP
- New order received
ORDERS - Despatch advice sent
DESADV - Invoice sent
INVOIC
- Hornbach
- Dedeman
- Leroy Merlin
- Brico Dépôt
How ZenB2B handles it
Flows shaped to each DIY chain.
We implement the flows each chain requires and link them to your ERP and warehouse. The product catalogue goes out from one source to every partner, so prices and codes stay consistent across every channel.
When a chain changes its specification, we update the mapping. When you add a new chain, it joins the same hub, as in multi-channel EDI for manufacturers.
What you gain
- Faster onboarding with each DIY chain We start from standard EANCOM messages and adapt them to each chain’s requirements.
- One integration point Your ERP sends the data once; we deliver it in each partner’s format.
- Catalogues and prices without retyping errors PRICAT and PRODAT come from the product data you already have.
FAQ
Questions about DIY retail EDI
What is PRICAT and why do DIY chains ask for it?
PRICAT is the EANCOM message for price and product catalogues. DIY chains use it to receive prices, descriptions and EAN/GTIN codes automatically, instead of spreadsheets by email.
Can you handle both direct store and central warehouse deliveries?
Yes. Every order carries the GLN of the delivery location, and despatch advice is generated for the right location.
