Invoicing from EDI data

For companies trading in Romania that invoice from SaaS tools or an ERP: data from EDI orders and deliveries flows into the invoice, in the system you already use. Invoices stay consolidated there, and that system sends them to e-Factura.

  • SmartBill
  • Oblio
  • FGO
  • Facturis
  • ERP
  • e-Transport

The challenge

The orders are electronic. The invoicing is still manual.

Many companies in Romania use SaaS invoicing tools (FGO, SmartBill, Oblio, Facturis) to issue invoices and report to e-Factura, Romania’s mandatory e-invoicing system run by ANAF, the tax authority.

But data from EDI orders still reaches these tools by hand, through copy and paste or retyping.

What we automate

ORDERS → INV.
Data from the EDI order fills in the invoice in SmartBill, FGO or Oblio.
DESADV → INVOIC
The invoice starts from the quantities actually shipped, not the ones ordered.
e-Factura
The invoice lands in your invoicing tool or ERP, which sends it to e-Factura (ANAF), as before.
e-Transport
Shipment data generates the mandatory UIT codes.
STATUS
Invoice status (issued, sent) is visible in the EDI flow too.

Invoicing

From transport orders to invoice, in three steps.

Pick the transport orders ready for invoicing, check equipment, routes and amounts, then issue the invoice. It lands in SmartBill, FGO or Oblio, consolidated with your other invoices, and the tool sends it to e-Factura. The orders are marked “Invoiced” so nothing is billed twice.

How ZenB2B handles it

Your EDI flow, connected directly to your invoicing tool.

We connect the EDI flow to your invoicing tool or ERP and automate the process from order to invoice. The invoice goes to the customer by EDI (INVOIC), and every invoice stays consolidated in your own system, ready to go to e-Factura.

It works the same for retail chains, DIY chains and transport, where trip data can feed e-Transport.

What you gain

  • Invoices from real EDI data The invoice is built from the order and the despatch advice, with nothing typed by hand.
  • Invoiced as shipped, not as ordered Quantities come from the confirmed delivery, so the invoice matches what was received.
  • Every invoice consolidated in your system Invoices land in your invoicing tool or ERP, which sends them on to e-Factura.

FAQ

Questions about invoicing and e-Factura

What is the difference between EDI and e-Factura?

e-Factura is ANAF’s national system through which B2B invoices in Romania must be reported to the state. EDI is the direct exchange of documents with your trading partners (orders, despatch advice, invoices). The same invoice reaches the customer by EDI and ANAF through e-Factura, usually from your ERP or invoicing tool. See our guide to EDI.

What is the UIT code in e-Transport?

The UIT (unique transport identification code) is required by ANAF for road transport of certain goods in Romania. We can generate it automatically from the order and delivery data.

Do you work with invoicing tools other than SmartBill, Oblio or FGO?

Yes, with any tool that has an API or accepts file imports, including Facturis and invoicing from your ERP.
